When moving long distances you may find that you have to transport your car across state lines. For those that don''t want to drive, a car mover is a great option that will transport your car safely to your new destination.
Car transport company. The most convenient option is to hire a car mover. These companies operate special Lorries that transport vehicles all over the country. The transport takes about a week and sometimes a few days extra depending on the number of stops the Lorry has to make in other cities.
Train transportation. Another option is to have your car transported by a train. Although it sounds attractive, but there are a number of problems with freight. First of all, very few companies allow private one-time transport. Most of these companies operate in contract basis with auto-dealers. A few companies that do allow private one-time transport require the owner to travel with their vehicle. Many people would prefer a trucking company over that.
The majority of people moving opt to use an auto transportation company for your transport is their customer feedback record. Inquire about the cases that led to the negative feedbacks and find out how they were resolved. Secondly, fill the inspection form carefully. In case of a mishap, the insurance company will consult this form only. Remove everything from your car since most auto shipment companies do not take responsibility of loss of these items.
Do not use the first company. Check at least four to five auto transport companies and get their prices and delivery times. Once you talk to a few companies, you will find out how much you can negotiate on the price. Also pick the company that offers the optimum insurance coverage. Car theft is unlikely, but vehicles might get damaged during car transport.
